Late last year, a few international banks operating in the UK had been fined for indulging in fraud. The fines were in millions of pounds. In what is regarded as a highly political decision ahead of the polls in UK, a huge chunk of this money is now being channeled towards East Anglian Air Ambulance Transport. The announcement was made earlier by Chancellor George Osborne. The Norwich based East Anglian Air Ambulance Transport had earlier shot to fame when Prince Williams had chosen to serve it as an air ambulance pilot.
East Anglian Air Ambulance Transport is Set to Receive Huge Sums
Speaking of numbers, the air ambulance transport charity will get 70,000 pounds a month for the next two years. This amount will be utilized to purchase a bigger, long range air ambulance. The air ambulance transport company had announced this year that it would be utilizing the 250,000 pounds alloted to it earlier to train over 40 paramedics. This money too had come from the fines imposed on the banks.

Apart from East Anglian Air Ambulance Transport, Essex & Herts Air Ambulance Trust would also get some money. It is slated to receive a grant of 1.5 million pounds in May 2017. This is the time when its current contract of air ambulance transport lease would expire. The money will keep the air ambulance charity floating.
Also, East Anglian Air Ambulance Transport would receive an EC135 chopper shortly. This would be flown by Prince William. The air ambulance transport charity had ordered it four years ago.
Although the money would cover the lease amount for only two years, this gives the air ambulance transport organization enough time to raise more funds to comfortably stay afloat in the future. For now, the people who would benefit from the air ambulance services are delighted with the new development. In UK, where most air ambulance services are non-profit, such funding plays a crucial role to stay in service.
