Cornwall Air Ambulance Charity’s Album Takes the Charts by Storm in the UK

Published:

In the United Kingdom, air ambulance services play a crucial role in emergency medical care, swiftly reaching patients in remote or hard-to-access areas. Yet, what sets these services apart is their reliance on charitable donations and community support. Unlike traditional public healthcare services, these lifesaving helicopters are predominantly funded by voluntary contributions, events, and creative campaigns, reflecting a unique blend of community spirit and philanthropy. The Cornwall Air Ambulance is one such service, and its latest effort is making waves in the music world.

Cornwall Air Ambulance’s charity album, Sing it Home, has soared to number 11 in the UK Album Downloads Chart, surpassing even Coldplay in popularity. This remarkable achievement underscores the community’s enthusiasm for supporting the Heli2 Appeal, an initiative to fund a second helicopter for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

Currently, the album sits just outside the top 10 in the Official Album Downloads Chart and ranks at number 76 in the Official Compilations Chart. The charity has called on the public to help propel the album higher, highlighting that every purchase directly contributes to the mission of saving lives.

The Air Ambulance Charity’s Collaboration with a Lifesaving Purpose

Sing it Home is a powerful compilation featuring hundreds of Cornish musicians, many of whom share personal ties to the Cornwall Air Ambulance. One of the standout contributors is Jeremy Griffiths, a Critical Care Paramedic for the charity, who performs with the local shanty group Falmouth Shout. Griffiths emphasized the critical importance of the second helicopter, noting that it would enable the team to respond to emergencies 19 hours a day, every day of the year.

The album also carries the heartfelt voices of former patients bringing authenticity and emotional depth to the project.

Supporting the Cause: Music as a Lifeline

The album’s title track, a sea shanty, doubles as the soundtrack for the charity’s new Christmas animation, adding festive cheer to the lifesaving mission. For just £5, supporters can purchase a digital copy of the album, directly contributing to the Heli2 Appeal and helping Cornwall Air Ambulance save more lives.
