The Red Funnel Charity Committee has presented a cheque of £55,000 to the HIOWAA (the Hampshire and Isle of Wright Air Ambulance). This generous donation will help fund the medical flight operations carried out by the charity.

Funds Raised Through Massive Effort Put in By Staff

Red Funnel Charity’s staff has put in tremendous effort the previous year to help raise funds for the charity. They participated in events such as a family fun day held at the Thruxton Motorsport Centre, a “10 Dance Challenge”, and dress down Fridays.

The effort to raise funds for the medical flight charity began after they were chosen by the public to be the charity of the year for Red Funnel. Thousands of votes came in choosing Hampshire and Isle of Wright Air Ambulance.

Funds to Help Finance Life-Saving Medical Flight Operations

Hampshire and Isle of Wright Air Ambulance provides the region’s residents with access to advanced critical care team and emergency transport. Their service is operational for 365 days a year throughout the day and night. They have an average response time of 20 minutes, helping people get emergency medical care that could save lives.

The charity doesn’t receive any funding from the government and depends solely on the funds donated by individuals and organizations. The charity’s Corporate and Community Fundraiser, Ray Southam has expressed his gratitude to be chosen as the charity of the year in 2017 for Red Funnel.

Red Funnel’s chief executive, Kevin George has stated that they are proud to have been able to raise £55,000 for a service that’s vital to residents of the Island and the rest of Hampshire. He also expressed his gratitude to their customers who made generous contributions in their fundraising efforts.
