TSB Bank Helps Raise Funds for Air Ambulance Service

Published:

A bank in Devizes, England has helped raise more than £600 for Wiltshire Air Ambulance. The funds were raised by a joint effort from employees and customers of TSB Bank in Devize, Wiltshire. They held raffles and set up book stalls in order to achieve the goal of keeping the air ambulance service operational.

Why the Bank Helped

Every year, TSB Bank selects a charity partner and then makes an effort to help raise funds for that charity. In September 2015, the Wiltshire Air Ambulance was chosen as its charity partner. Since then, the bank has been holding several fundraising events throughout the year in order to raise enough funds to help the air ambulance service.

TSB Bank’s employees and customers alike have had cake sales, tombolas, and book stalls to help raise the funds. In addition to this, they had a Christmas Hamper raffle and managed to raise £600.75 overall. According to the bank’s manager, Niki Morey, their Local Charity Partnership program is dedicated to working in partnership with a goal to support local causes that are crucial for communities across Britain. TSB Bank will be announcing a new charity partner in September 2016.

Words from the Air Ambulance Service

Wiltshire Air Ambulance’s fundraising coordinator, Kenresa Stratford, commended TSB Bank for its fundraising efforts and support. Stratford said that the money the bank has helped raise can help keep their helicopters flying in order to save more lives. The charity does not receive government funding but has to rely on public donations in order to keep their flights operational. The local population has always extended a helping hand to the organization.

Every year, the charity has to raise at least £3.25 million in order to fund its annual operations. So, even the smallest contributions can make a huge difference for Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
