Cornwall Air Ambulance Nominated for Two Prestigious National Awards

Published:

Cornwall Air Ambulance has secured a place on the shortlist for two top accolades at the 2025 Third Sector Awards, highlighting its exceptional work in both marketing and fundraising. These annual awards recognize outstanding contributions by charities, voluntary organizations, social enterprises, and their corporate partners across the UK.

The organization is in contention for Marketing Campaign of the Year and Fundraising Team of the Year—a double recognition that underscores its growing impact in the sector and its commitment to saving lives across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

‘Sing it Home’ Hits a High Note

One of the standout campaigns earning the nomination is Sing it Home, a charity album that made headlines by reaching number 11 on the official UK album download charts. This milestone marked the first time an air ambulance charity had achieved such a ranking, even surpassing major acts like Coldplay. The album remained in the top 20 for two consecutive weeks, reflecting its widespread support and popularity.

Jon Michael, Head of Marketing & Communications at Cornwall Air Ambulance, expressed pride in the campaign’s success. He said the team was thrilled to be shortlisted once again for the Third Sector Awards, which he noted were often regarded as the “Oscars of the charity world.” He described Sing it Home as a powerful community-driven initiative that not only celebrated local culture through a Cornish sea shanty but also highlighted the urgent need for a second helicopter.

Michael explained that the community’s response exceeded all expectations and that the widespread support was a testament to the strong bond between the charity and its supporters. He added that being able to combine music, culture, and life-saving work created a unique platform for engagement.
